What is RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel)?

Refuse derived fuel (RDF) is produced from municipal and industrial waste, which includes biodegradable material as well as plastics. Refuse Derived Fuel is a renewable energy source after shred, dried, slectected, sorted and then finally burned to produce electricity.


What is SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel)?

Solid recovered fuel (SRF) is a high-quality alternative to fossil fuel and is produced from mainly commercial waste including paper, card, wood, textiles and plastic.

So what’s the differentce between RDF&SRF?

The main difference is how refined and processed the final product is. Solid recovered fuel has gone through additional processing to improve the quality and value, the resulting material is very usable as fuel, it has a higher calorific value than RDF and is used in facilities such as cement kilns.  RDF on the other hand is less refined and typically not as ‘efficient’ as fuel.



What is the disadvantage of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel)?

Refused Derived Fuels (RDF) as an alternative fuel from municipal solid waste (MSW) is still required by the cement industry. Besides it has a high calorific value, RDF has a more economical price than coal. RDF production is also able to solve the problem of MSW and reduce CO 2 emissions.
